I thought it was high time to send a note about our sweet girl. Emily went in to the Dr on Monday for her two-month checkup (hard to believe it has already been two months - time sure flys!) and immunizations. She was none to pleased to get the shots, but otherwise the apponthment went beautifully. She now tips the scales at 13# 2oz (95th percentile for her age!) and is 22.5 inches long (50th percentile). The Dr was very pleased with Emily's color (no more hint of yellow indicating jaundice) and said everything seems to be working right and she seems to be developing at a good rate.
Somewhere between working overtime, serving jury duty, and doing stuff around the house (like painting the nursery - we were unprepared for Emily's early arrival), among other things.
For the most part, I seem to have recovered well - I've even gone jogging a few times (short stints when someone else has been around to watch Emily). On the other hand, I fall apart when I think about my impending return to work and having to leave Emily at daycare. Speaking of which, we will be starting her at a place in San Dimas (home of Bill & Ted of "Excellent Adventure" fame, and right next to Glendora) the end of May. We'll probably transfer her to the JPL daycare center in September when a spot opens there. I'll deal somehow, but if anyone has advice to help me leave my baby, I welcome it!
Finally (and most excitingly), Emily went on her first plane ride on Wednesday! She and I are now in Michigan and we'll be here till May 18 (the joys of maternity leave)! Unfortunately, Sean does not get paid leave, so he is only able to come out for the weekend of Emily's baptism (May 7-10). By the way, if anyone wants to come to the baptism, let me know and I'll give you the details.

Baptism coming!

Just a quick note before I feed the little lady - Emily is going to be baptized on May 9 after the 11:30 mass at Sacred Heart. It will be a private ceremony around the baptism font just for us with Deacon Steve, rather than during the mass with Fr. Jim. More details will follow, but mark your calendars and make flight plans if you need/want to!
