Adventurous Flight Home - Xmas

Just wanted to let you know we made it home. We got on the plane in Boston on time, but then sat there for a while for reasons we were not privy to. The plane was packed, of course (oversold, actually), but we were lucky enough to work out a seat swap so we ended up with the aisle and middle while a young lady in the Navy took the window. That way I was able to get up and walk around with the Squirminator a few times. The flight was mostly uneventful, but there was apparently a huge headwind, which added an extra hour to our flight time. Emily finally went to sleep, after squirming for the first few hours and drinking 1½ bottles of juice (she only drank about 2 oz on the way out), right around 8:30 (her normal bedtime). I got a little nap then too, but then came the last ½ hour… Luckily Sean had taken Emily from me because I just started feeling horrible. The plane was bouncing and rocking all over the place and I felt terribly queasy. I was definitely ready for solid ground, “fresh” air (or as close as we can get here in LA), a big glass of water, and some food!

Anyway, we finally landed and waited almost another hour for our bags – of course the one thing we needed most, the carseat, was the last thing off the plane… We caught the parking shuttle and then tried to avoid the lakes in the parking lot while we dashed through the pouring rain to load the car. After a stop at Wendy’s, we got home around 1AM. Alpha seemed happy to see us and we’ll be picking Wally up after he gets his bath and nails done this afternoon.

We miss you all, and I can’t even take solace in the weather because, with the exception of no residual snow melting on the ground, it’s pretty much the same here as it was there – cold, grey, and rainy.
