We haven't "officially" weighed Emily for the past month and a half, but when I hold her on the scale, she adds around 15.5 pounds. We'll be taking her back to the Dr in a couple weeks for her 4 month checkup and more shots, so we'll get her weighed then. Emily has spent the last few weeks at daycare since I'm back at work. She seems to like it - they say she talks and smiles a lot. The only problem is that she has had a runny nose for the past week because of all the germs that go around there. I hate having to leave her, but we don't have a choice right now...
When Emily is with us, she spends a lot of time smiling and cooing and laughing. It's great! She has also started grabbing things, as opposed to just flailing her arms around. Always something new!

Sick baby blues

Yeah, just when it was getting slightly easier to leave Emily at daycare (or at least I wasn't crying and wanting to call every 1/2 hour to see how she is doing), she made it hard again. If there is anything tougher than leaving your tiny baby at daycare, it is leaving your sick tiny baby. She projectile spit up both Thursday and Friday mornings, and just in time to start this week, she spent most of last night sniffling. Sean seemed to be attempting to suction her nose every hour... So, nothing serious enough to keep her home (darn), but enough that I just want to cuddle her (more than usual)...
We had a good weekend, though we didn't really do anything special, just enjoyed time off together (it was in the mid 90s, so we spent a lot of time in the air conditioning). Sean has almost finished Emily's mural. We went to Babies R Us and picked up a crib mattress, among other things. We started to put the crib together finally, but realized that the directions disappeared. Sean got ahold of someone at the crib company to send us new directions, so we'll probably conquer that tonight. Oh, and I have to mention how much Emily loves her Pooh mobile! I attached it to her bassinet until we get her crib up, and all I have to do is reach for it to wind up the music box and she starts smiling!
The other day I let out what I thought was a little gasp when I noticed a huge spider in our bathroom. When I opened the door, Sean was standing there and asked where the spider was - I guess my gasp wasn't so little...
I have the cutest picture of Emily in her dress and bonnet smiling away that I can't wait to share with everyone!
