Emily Update - September 2004

Just a quick update (while Emily naps and my files process in the background). Emily is hanging in there through our flux time – Mom had to go back to MI to start school a couple weeks ago (L), and Emily’s new daycare doesn’t start till mid September, so we’re trading her off, working at home as much as possible, and she’s getting some fine naps in the Flight Ops room (like now). Not the best situation, but it’s working for the short time…

We had a lovely time last weekend on Catalina Island – we went to celebrate our anniversary and to visit some of my relatives who were in town from Philly. We took Emily to the beach where, much to her dismay, we stuck her toes in the ocean (it was a bit cold, not to mention loud). She was a little happier on the sand, but didn’t seem to like when her feet were covered. So we lounged in the shade.

Emily passed the half year mark last week (it’s gone so fast). Her six-month checkup, however, will be next week when her doctor returns from vacation. So, we don’t have her “official stats”, but I’d guess she’s weighing in over 18 pounds and is probably 27 or 28 inches long. She sprouted her first tooth two weeks ago and her second last week (both on bottom in the front). In fact, you can kinda see them in the attached picture (which was taken by some coworkers who were “watching” (read: “playing with”) Emily while Sean and I were in a meeting).
I should get back to it…

We miss you and hope you’ve had a wonderful summer!
